MANILA, Philippines — Lucio Tan-owned Eton Properties Philippines Inc. has tapped Lopez-led First Gen Corp. to fully energize its key commercial and office buildings in Metro Manila with renewable power.

The LT Group’s real estate arm is set to transition Eton Centris BPO 5 to clean energy starting next month, with Eton Centris BPO 1 and 3, Centris Walk, Eton Cyberpod Corinthian and Eton WestEnd Square following in December.

The renewable electricity supply will come from geothermal plants owned and operated by First Gen subsidiary Energy Development Corp.

“This transition shows what sustainability looks like in practice. It is about operational discipline, sound governance and long-term value,” Eton Properties chief finance and risk officer Che Mutuc said.

The partnership with First Gen is expected to deliver around 33 million kilowatt-hours of clean power annually, enough to displace over 21,000 metric tons of carbon emissions or remove over 4,000 cars from the road.

“Through this shift to renewable energy, we are ensuring that sustainability is built into how we run our business every day,” Mutuc said.

The shift to clean energy aligns with the LT Group’s broader sustainability strategy in collaboration with First Gen, aiming to achieve long-term growth while delivering value through its products and services.

Established in 2007, Eton Properties boasts a diverse portfolio of residential communities, commercial centers, office developments and mixed-use townships in major cities nationwide.

First Gen, on the other hand, operates at least 13 geothermal power plants totaling around 1,200 MW, the largest portfolio of its kind in the Philippines.
