Hann Reserve reclassified as special ecozone

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and Hann Philippines Inc. (HPI) have signed an agreement for the reclassification and registration of Hann Reserve as a special economic zone.
In a statement yesterday, PEZA said a supplemental agreement was signed with HPI for the registration of Hann Reserve as a mixed-use special economic zone.
“HPI requested PEZA to reclassify its ecozone from a tourism economic zone to a mixed-use special economic zone encompassing manufacturing, agro-industrial, tourism and information technology sectors,” the PEZA said.
Through the reclassification, PEZA said HPI would be able to attract a wider range of investors to locate in its 455.60-hectare leased property.
To be located in Pampanga, the Hann Reserve is being developed as a world-class destination featuring different industries such as agriculture, technology and tourism.
Once operational, the project is expected to create new investments and quality jobs, as well as unlock opportunities for local communities.
PEZA director general Tereso Panga said the signing of the agreement with HPI is a significant step in ecozone development.
“This reclassification of Hann Reserve ushers in a new era of ecozone development, one that fuses industry, innovation, agriculture and tourism into a single, sustainable engine of growth,” he said.
Through the agreement, PEZA and HPI are positioning Hann Reserve as a pioneering model of mixed-use ecozone development.
Hann Reserve is also expected to help strengthen PEZA’s mission of promoting the creation of more ecozones.
Through the development of more ecozones in the country, PEZA wants to help spur growth and development in the regions and create jobs.
