Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) is embarking on major expansion projects as part of the group’s P59 billion capital spending plan this year.

To sustain its growth, AGI said that major development efforts would be spearheaded by the group’s leisure development company, Travellers International, as well as the ongoing expansion projects of Megaworld and Emperador.

“In an era defined by rapid urbanization, evolving demographics and the global mandate for sustainability, we are responding by creating not mere structures and developments, but complete communities and lifestyle,” AGI chairman Andrew Tan said during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting yesterday.

“AGI cements its position as the premium lifestyle conglomerate by raising every element of its products and services to global standards, all while keeping an authentic Filipino essence,” he said.

Among AGI’s biggest projects include a new luxury hotel by Newport World Resorts as well as integrated resorts in Boracay, Cebu and Parañaque.

Ongoing expansion projects of Travellers International include the development of The Narra Palm Hotel and Villa in the Newport World Resorts complex.

The Narra Palm, which is intended to become a Filipino luxury destination, will have 157 hotel suites and villas as well as private gaming suites for VIP guests.

Travellers is also eyeing to develop new integrated resort projects in Boracay Newcoast in Malay, Aklan and The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, as well as the Westside City commercial complex along Manila Bay in Parañaque   as part of its plans to expand its business beyond the walls of Newport World Resorts.

“These developments redefine leisure by combining luxury hospitality with modern gaming, while integrating sustainable design to minimize environmental impact and enhancing community well-being,” AGI chief executive officer and president Kevin Tan said.

Megaworld, on its end, plans to build premium offices in Iloilo, Bacolod, Davao, Pampanga and Bulacan, with gross leasable area (GLA) totaling over 139,000 square meters.

The property giant is also developing lifestyle malls in Boracay, Bacolod, Pampanga, Cavite, Rizal and in Metro Manila, increasing its mall GLA by over 151,000 square meters.
