MANILA, Philippines —  EastWest Banking Corp. has partnered with Puregold Price Club Inc. to launch a credit card for Filipino shoppers, offering cash rebates and rewards to maximize savings on grocery purchases and everyday spending.

EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo said the collaboration between the bank and the retail chain delivers practical, real-world benefits for Filipino consumers nationwide.

“This card turns regular grocery runs into opportunities to earn cash rebates, which can be converted into Puregold P-Wallet credits, helping cardholders stretch their budgets while enjoying the ease of cashless payments,” Ngo said.

The EastWest Puregold Always Panalo Visa Credit Card provides one rewards point for every P30 spent at Puregold and P100 spent elsewhere. Rewards points are convertible to Puregold P-Wallet credits at a 1:1 ratio.

Cardholders can accumulate up to P3,000 in P-Wallet credits monthly, allowing for more savings with each transaction.

“The Eastwest Puregold Always Panalo Visa Credit Card maximizes every peso spent, making shopping for the family more rewarding. For every transaction brings you closer to bigger savings and exclusive perks,” Lawrence Lee, head of EastWest’s consumer lending cluster, said.

The launch also served as a milestone event in EastWest’s 30th anniversary, underscoring its commitment to innovative banking solutions. Applications are now open, offering shoppers a more rewarding way to pay.

Gotianun-led EastWest Banking Corp. saw its net income jump by 24.6 percent to P7.6 billion in 2024 from P6.1 billion in 2023 on the back of strong consumer loan expansion and robust deposit generation.

In the fourth quarter alone, the bank’s net income surged 47 percent year-on-year, driven by its higher revenue-generating capacity.
