MANILA, Philippines — China issued a warning to the International Criminal Court yesterday, urging against “politicization” and “double standards” in the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
The arrest, which took place in Manila, was linked to a warrant tied to his controversial war on drugs.
When asked about their sentiments on the arrest, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said “China has noted the relevant information and is closely monitoring the development of the situation.”
