Woman snatches ang pao from Tondo churchgoer

MANILA, Philippines —  Police arrested a woman for taking ang pao or red envelope containing P1,200 from a churchgoer in Tondo, Manila yesterday.

The victim, a 26-year-old female call center agent, was walking from the Sto. Niño Church where she heard mass when the incident happened at 11 a.m.

She did not notice that the suspect, Princess Nicole Lacap Santos, had taken from her the ang pao, a common present in Chinese and Filipino cultures.

Police recovered the stolen cash from Santos. Theft charges will be filed against her.
