Bonoan named new MAP president

MANILA, Philippines — Former finance undersecretary Emmanuel “Noel” Bonoan has been elected as president of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) for 2025.

In a circular for its members, MAP said Bonoan and other officers for 2025 were elected during yesterday’s joint meeting of the group’s board of governors.

Bonoan is currently vice chair and chief operating officer of audit, tax and advisory services firm KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co.

In his present role, he advises large multinational companies and trade organizations on tax strategies, as well as represents clients before revenue agencies.

Bonoan previously served as undersecretary of the Department of Finance (DOF), exercising oversight functions over the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Customs authority.

His achievements at the DOF include the introduction of anti-corruption and anti-tax evasion programs.

In 2004, he was recognized for his work and awarded  the prestigious Ten Outstanding Young Men in the category of Public Service.

Bonoan will succeed Ayala Corp. senior managing director Rene Almendras as MAP president.

Apart from Bonoan, also elected as MAP officers for 2025 are Metro Pacific Investments Corp. director for government and public affairs Michael Toledo, who will serve as MAP vice president and SGV & Co. chairman and country managing partner Wilson Tan as MAP treasurer.

Other members of the MAP 2025 board of governors are Almendras, Center for Excellence in Governance vice chair Rex Drilon, CEO Advisors Inc. managing director Marianne Hontiveros, AC Health president and CEO Paolo Borromeo, GT Capital Holdings Inc. independent director Gil Genio and Maya Bank chair Alfredo Panlilio.
