MANILA, Philippines — Earnings of counter service bakery operator Balai ni Fruitas Inc. climbed by a little over a quarter in the nine months ending September as the company’s revenue nearly reached the half-billion-peso mark.
Balai’s net income jumped by 26 percent to P52 million in the first three quarters from P41 million in the same period in 2023.
Revenue for the nine-month period reached P487 million, up by 26 percent from last year’s P387 million, driven by the robust performance of its stores, with flagship brand Balai Pandesal emerging as the primary revenue driver.
Balai attributed the brand’s continued success to the popularity of both its anchor bread products and newer premium offerings.
Sugarhouse, the company’s recent acquisition, has also been successfully integrated, expanding the company’s product portfolio and attracting a broader customer base.
“This solid growth reflects the continued popularity of our flagship brand, Balai Pandesal and the resilience of our business despite economic challenges,” Balai president and CEO Lester Yu said.
