Aboitiz Foods opens $45 million Vietnam feed mill
MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Foods, the integrated food and business arm of the Aboitiz Group, inaugurated last week its $45-million modern feed mill in Vietnam as it seeks to solidify its footprint in Southeast Asia.
The company opened its Gold Coin Long An Feed Mill in Long An, Vietnam that spans 3.8 hectares and features cutting-edge technology and a modern laboratory, capable of producing 300,000 metric tons (MT) of livestock and animal nutrition feed annually.
The new facility replaces the firm’s Dong Nai Mill and complements its fully operational Binh Duong plant, bringing Aboitiz Foods’ total feed production capacity in Vietnam to 1.1 million MT.
The new feed mill plays a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for high-quality animal nutrition in southern Vietnam, Aboitiz Foods said.
“This inauguration is a significant milestone not only for Aboitiz Foods and our Gold Coin Feed-Agribusiness Division but the entire Aboitiz Group,” said Tristan Aboitiz, Aboitiz Foods president and CEO.
”Vietnam is a key market of ours and this new facility reinforces our strong position in the country and marks a significant step in building our regional feed platform,” Aboitiz added.
The feed mill facilitates efficient trade of finished goods and raw materials, reducing customers’ time and costs, as it is situated near a long river route with a private port.
This strategic location enhances food supply and safety chains for central, southern, and Mekong Delta provinces, supporting sustainable growth and employment and ultimately contributing to the economy of Long An province, Aboitiz Foods said.
“This state-of-the-art facility embodies our commitment to Vietnam and the region,” said Eric Nojac, Business CEO of Aboitiz Foods.
“Through this feed mill, we will continue to lead in the agribusiness space, delivering top-quality products and solutions that contribute to the country’s progress and prosperity,” Nojac added.
