Filinvest to hop on tourism resurgence

MANILA, Philippines —  The Gotianun family’s Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC) is bullish on expanding its hospitality business, with plans to put up more hotels in key tourist spots nationwide.

“We’re looking at adding close to 2,000 additional keys,” Filinvest Hospitality Corp. first senior vice president Francis Gotianun said.

He said the company has its sights set on key tourist destinations such as Baguio, Clark and Bohol for its expansion.

Filinvest Hospitality’s roster of hotels includes Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, Crimson Hotel Filinvest City Manila, The Quest Hotels & Resorts in Cebu, Clark Pampanga and Tagaytay.

The company is currently working on a new hotel in Baguio.

Gotianun said the company is on track to open the project by the first quarter of 2025.

Grafik Baguio is a 5,700 square meter, 256-room full-service hotel being constructed in accordance with the EDGE Green Building Program of the International Finance Corp.
