Solaire Resort North off to a promising start

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Operations of tycoon Enrique Razon’s latest integrated destination resort in Quezon City is off to a promising start.

Joy Wassmer, director for public relations and communications of Solaire Resort, said foot traffic has been good at Solaire Resort North after nearly two months since opening its doors to the public.

“We take it day to day to see how the market is going to adapt to what we have and so far, the hotel and food and beverage look very promising,” she said.

Wassmer said Solaire Resort North’s patrons are mostly coming to the integrated resort for its signature restaurants.

“Foot traffic is good, but mostly people who come here stay and they maximize all the restaurants that we have. We feel the people in the area really enjoy dining and going out because even the food court is packed,” Wassmer said.

“But we hope to see more people in the gaming floor. For now it’s mostly F&B (food and beverage),” she said.

Wassmer said the hotel is also doing well given its current inventory.

“I know we have 200 plus rooms available. The total would be 526 which is not fully handed over yet,” she said.

Solaire Resort North, which held its grand opening last May 25, is the first and only five-star integrated resort serving northern Metro Manila and adjacent provinces.

The $1-billion integrated destination resort sits on a 1.5-hectare site in Quezon City.

With its opening, Solaire Resort North has set a new benchmark for luxury and entertainment in Quezon City as well as solidifies its position as a trailblazer in the hospitality sector.

“Right now, the Quezon City people are the ones visiting the property. Probably a few from Bulacan, but not much yet. Our target market is really up north. So you have Clark, Pampanga and Baguio. This is your first stop if you are coming from the north, going down to enter Manila. There’s no other five star hotel in Quezon City and we’re the first,” Wassmer said.
