CGBP holds training on new PPP Code

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The new law on the Public-Private Partnership Code of the Philippines took effect Dec. 23, 2023. Subsequently, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) was released to the public and took effect on April 6, 2024.

The IRR offers enhanced clarity on key aspects outlined in the new law. Notably, it elaborates on approval prerequisites, terms and conditions governing PPP contracts, and explains the applicability of PPP Code provisions to various project stages, including new initiatives, projects-in-approval pipelines and existing endeavors.

The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) will hold a training titled The New PPP Code and IRR on June 13, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City, Philippines.

The PPP Code incorporates the best practices and lessons learned from over 33 years of experience in implementing PPPs in the country to ensure that present and future PPP projects are of high quality and can mitigate risks during implementation.

Learn all these from CGBP course director and lecturer lawyer Alberto Agra who is a PPP expert and seasoned practitioner, PPP law-for-all advocate and author. He has conducted more than 400 lectures on PPPs and developed a PPP template ordinance which has been adopted by more than 120 LGUs.

Registration is open to the general public and is highly recommended for NGAs, LGUs, GOCCs, GIs, GFIs, SUCs, LUCs, local economic enterprises, private sector proponents and business owners, contractors, lawyers and consultancy firms, NGOs, foundations, members of the academe, funding and donor agencies and anyone interested in the topic.
