MANILA, Philippines — AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC), the industrial parks and real estate logistics arm of Ayala Land Inc., has set its sights on becoming a formidable player in the cold storage space with a sustained double-digit growth eyed for the business over the medium-term.

“Using the strength of Ayala Land’s strategically located landbank and financial stability, we aim to be a major player in the cold storage space,” ALLHC chairman and Ayala Land president and CEO Anna Ma. Margarita Bautista-Dy said.

“As a relatively new player in the market, our intention is to achieve consistent double-digit growth for this business line in the next five years,” she said.

Expanding its footprint in the cold storage sector reflects ALLHC’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to food security and supply chain efficiency.

“The team has high aspirations on what we can do to be a major player in the industry, and in the process, contribute to the country’s goals of food security, and hopefully, also to bring down food prices as we improve distribution all around the country,” Bautista-Dy said.

ALLHC has recently expanded its cold storage portfolio with the opening of its latest facility, ALogis Artico Santo Tomas.

ALogis Artico Santo Tomas adds 5,000 pallet positions to ALLHC’s existing cold storage portfolio, bolstering its capability to 15,300 pallet positions across four facilities.

The facility seeks to address the surging demand for cold storage solutions in South Luzon.

“We also aim to help address issues of food safety and security, and to support the country’s growing cold chain sector and its supply chain logistics.

Moreover, we look forward to our latest development further energizing the city of Santo Tomas and the whole of Batangas,” ALLHC president and CEO Robert Lao said.

ALogis Artico Santo Tomas is equipped with 16 cold rooms featuring temperatures ranging from 5°C to -25°C.

Underscoring ALLHC’s dedication to sustainable practices, the facility is powered by renewable energy.

ALLHC said the transition to renewable energy sources in its cold storage facilities is a significant step toward achieving a more sustainable logistics industry.

The company entered the cold storage business in 2021. It is targeting to double its cold storage capacity by next year in support of the promising cold chain sector in the country.
