Bosch names new Philippines head

MANILA, Philippines — Bosch, a global supplier of technology and services, has named Paulo Duarte as its new managing director for the Philippines.

Duarte is taking over the role held by Joseph Hong, who is now assigned to manage the business in Laos, in addition to his current role as managing director in Thailand.

The firm’s new managing director has been with the Bosch Group for over 30 years, holding leadership roles in Europe and Asia.

Prior to being appointed as managing director for Bosch Philippines, Duarte was country sales director for the automotive aftermarket in Indonesia and the Philippines from 2014 to 2017.

Under his new role, Duarte will focus on strengthening the firm’s businesses in the country  in the areas of automotive, construction, infrastructure security, e-commerce, and business process outsourcing, while pursuing the commitment to sustainability and innovation.

“With the country’s young population and the acceleration of digital payments and marketplaces, I am excited to explore new opportunities alongside growing traditional business models. Hand in hand with growth, we shall remain steadfast in driving efforts and in bringing solutions that foster sustainability and innovation in order to secure the collective future of upcoming generations,” he said.

As country sales director of the automotive aftermarket division, Duarte will also continue the firm’s push for road safety through quality automotive parts.

Bosch has been actively promoting the use of car safety systems in two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles in the country by working with the government and other industry players.

The Bosch Group, which is engaged in the business of  mobility solutions, industrial technology, consumer goods, and energy and building technology, has presence in 60 countries.
