MANILA, Philippines — An online education platform of Dito CME Holdings Inc., the communications, media, and entertainment arm of Dennis Uy’s Udenna Group, and CloudSwyft is set to get a boost with the help of Jack Ma’s Alibaba Group.
Dito CME and CloudSwyft announced a collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, to elevate the digital transformation in the country through LUNA Academy.
Luna Academy is an online education platform launched by Dito CME and CloudSwyft early this year.
It provides an avenue for affordable and convenient learning, skills training, and online certifications that are tailor-fitted for Filipinos.
Providing world-class certifications, the platform also aims to link all successful learners to employment and internship opportunities with the leading global and local corporations in the country.
“This planned collaboration with Alibaba Cloud will provide Filipinos opportunities to expand competencies as members of the workforce amid the challenges posed by the pandemic,” Dito CME chief operating officer Donald Lim said.
“Our partnership with Alibaba Cloud underpins our shared mission to improve knowledge and capability of Filipinos in the fields of cloud computing. We will work toward equipping learners with 21st century skills to prepare them for modern career opportunities in the digital era,” CloudSwyft founder and CEO Dann Angelo De Guzman said.
With the partnership, Alibaba Cloud will equip LUNA Academy with its leading cloud computing and storage products to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of virtual labs for learners taking up its courses.
As one of the primary technology skills content and certification partners of LUNA Academy, Alibaba Cloud will provide online training courses ranging from cloud technologies, ecommerce to fintech.
“We are truly thankful to partner with LUNA Academy to launch training programs in the Philippines. Alibaba Cloud is extending its full support for this initiative by leveraging its cutting-edge technologies to equip Filipinos with the right skills needed to excel in their future careers and help accelerate the country’s digital transformation,” Alibaba Cloud Intelligence country manager for Philippines Allen Guo said.
“We are committed to bringing forth more innovative solutions to help our local communities progress amid these tough times,” Guo said.
