EasyCall taps partners to provide connectivity
MANILA, Philippines — Listed EasyCall Communications Philippines Inc., which used to be the country’s top provider of pagers, has tapped strategic partners to provide businesses with connectivity and data management solutions, particularly those working from home or remotely.
Easycall has partnered with Washington-based Thycotic to enable businesses to manage cybersecurity and data compliance risks from home.
“Managing information security risk has never been so important as it is today,” EasyCall said.
According to the company, the National Computer Emergency Response Team of the Philippines, a division of the Department of Information and Communications technology, in the last few months has cautioned the public that malicious individuals are increasingly attempting to exploit cybersecurity gaps as people work from home.
“As many businesses have turned to working from home, there has been an increased reliance on personal computers and personal networks, which may not have the same level of security and control over how sensitive information is used and accessed as within an office setting,” it said.
“EasyCall, together with strategic partner Thycotic, help businesses manage privileges and ensure access to sensitive information remains safe and compliant, a necessity that residential computer setups may be overlooking,” the firm said.
Meanwhile, to help businesses cope with alternative communications, EasyCall offers enterprises with unified communications systems and solutions through strategic partner Yeastar Cloud PBX.
EasyCall said Yeastar’s solutions enable a whole range of business phone line capabilities possible from home, and also saves on implementation and maintenance costs and phone bills, since the technology does not use analog phones or traditional phone lines.
“We want to enable businesses and enterprises with the capability to continue working despite being in different places, and ensure that their technology needs are met,” EasyCall general manager Paul Villena said.
EasyCall was originally registered as a telecommunications company in 1989 and initially engaged in the paging industry, and has since evolved to engage in information technology and data solutions.
The company now seeks to provide connectivity to unserved and underserved areas in the country and develop tools that can enable data-based insights for businesses.
