SM Foundation delivers COVID-19 test kits, supplies to more hospitals
MANILA, Philippines — To boost the country’s fight against the coronavirus outbreak, SM Foundation donated test kits to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City.
Several packages containing COVID-19 test kits for around 10,000 samples were delivered to RITM, strengthening the Muntinlupa-based hospital’s capability to test more people and screen them for early diagnosis.
Aside from the testing kits, SM has previously donated N95 masks, surgical masks, disinfecting alcohol, goggles, medical gloves and personal protective equipment to RITM for the protection of their medical workers and frontliners.
In a bid to support the full recovery of COVID-19 patients, the corporate social responsibility arm of the SM Group of Companies also delivered several intensive care unit-grade ventilators to the following medical institutions: Philippine General Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and San Lazaro Hospital.
SM also provided ICU-grade ventilator units to West Visayas State University Medical Center in Iloilo and Baguio General Hospital.
In CALABARZON, SM Foundation delivered medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) to help medical frontliners in these hospitals Carmona Hospital & Medical Center in Cavite, Batangas Medical Center, Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Memorial Hospital and Manila East Medical Center in Rizal.
These donations form part of SM’s P170 million allocation to support the country’s fight against the outbreak by providing medical supplies to hospitals nationwide and improving the availability of COVID-19 testing kits.
