DHL to raise prices next year
MANILA, Philippines — Global international express services provider DHL Express is making upward adjustments in its shipment prices in the Philippines starting next year to support its planned investments and expansion.
DHL Express said the price increase would take effect on Jan. 1, 2020, in which its average shipment price will become 4.9 percent higher than the 2019 level.
DHL Express Philippines country manager Nurhayati Abdullah said the annual price adjustment allows the company to invest in its infrastructure, facilities, fleet, and online tools.
“It will enable us to utilize innovative technologies and enhance delivery processes to ensure best-in-class customer solutions. These advances, along with other digitalization programs that we are continually developing, will immensely support the growth of e-commerce here in the Philippines,” Abdullah said.
“We are also gearing up for further expansion across the country to better serve businesses and individuals requiring fast, efficient and reliable international shipping services,” she said.
DHL Express said prices are adjusted on an annual basis by the company, taking into consideration inflation and currency dynamics such as administrative costs related to regulatory and security measures.
Depending on local conditions, DHL said price adjustments would vary from country to country in each of the more than 220 countries and territories that DHL Express serves, and would apply to all customers where contracts allow.
“It is our goal at DHL Express to support our customers in reaching their business goals by tailoring our services to the needs of their business. As a prerequisite, we have been investing heavily in our international network,” Abdullah said.
