JAKARTA, Indonesia (As released) — The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Jakarta worked with the Embassy of the Philippines in Jakarta, the Philippine Business Club Indonesia and the University of Asia and the Pacific to host the Philippines-Indonesia Business Forum on April 25.
The event, at the Pullman Hotel in Thamrin, featured speakers from both countries who discussed possible partnerships, opportunities and updates on the economies.
The forum also provided an avenue to engage with participating Filipino businessmen operating in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Highlights of the forum included a briefing on the Philippine Economy by veteran economist Bernardo Villegas, a professor of the Strategic Business Economics Program at UA&P.
Villegas also cited reasons why the Philippines is an attractive investment destination.
The Indonesian economy, meanwhile, was the subject of Brasukra Gumilang Sudjana's presentations. He is the Indonesia country representative and director of the Asia Groups Advisors.
Antonio Capati, chairperson of the Philippine Business Club Indonesia talked about how it is to do business in Indonesia.
Yozua Makes and Christine Herrera of Makes & Partners Law Firm discussed the legal aspects of doing business in Indonesia.
The presentations were followed by an open forum. — DFA
