MANILA, Philippines — The local unit of Japanese automotive firm Mitsubishi Motors Corp. aims to top the pickup truck segment with the launch of the new Strada.
In a statement, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) said the new Strada is targeted for customers looking for a vehicle they could use for private and commercial purposes.
“With the introduction of the new Strada and all the refinements applied in this pickup, MMPC is optimistic the new Strada will be one of the most preferred vehicles in its segment. MMPC is looking forward to once again dominate in the pickup truck segment,” the company said.
Launched in Thailand late last year, the new Strada is considered one of the most important models of Mitsubishi.
Assembled in Laem Chabang plant in Thailand, the new Strada is available at MMPC’s dealerships.
The pickup is designed to be more durable, reliable, capable and provides a much comfortable ride.
It is available in six variants, all fitted with a six-speed transmission.
Customers planning to purchase the Strada can choose from seven colors such as white diamond, graphite gray metallic, sterling silver metallic, jet black mica, red solid clear, grayish brown metallic and impulse blue metallic.
The suggested retail price for the new Strada ranges from P1.165 million up to P1.67 million, depending on the variant.
Apart from the Strada, MMPC is selling other vehicle models such as the Mirage, Mirage G4, Xpander, Pajero, Montero Sport, Strada GL, and L200.
The company also sells trucks and buses such as the Canter, FI 1217R, FJ1823R, FJ 2528R, FJ 2528C, and the ROSA.
Last year, MMPC sold a total of 67,512 vehicles, down 8.3 percent from 73,590 vehicles in 2017.
