MANILA, Philippines — Japanese electronic components maker Murata Inc. recently put up its largest production site in Asia – its second factory in Tanauan City, Batangas – in its continued bid to bring the Philippines at the forefront of product innovation and technology advancement demanded by its global clients.

Through local unit Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc. (PMM), the company is engaged in the design, manufacturing and sale of ceramic-based passive electronic components and solutions and communication and power supply modules.

It offers a wide range of applications from mobile phones to home appliances, and automotive applications to energy management systems and healthcare devices.

PMM president Takurou Nakajima said since the company started operations in 2012, it faced – and hurdled – various issues and difficulties.

“The last six years were not easy for us because we encountered many issues and difficulties – from start-up, hiring employees, production set-up and so on. However, with the huge support of our partners, together with our hardworking employees, we were able to overcome these challenges and also, we were able to expand our production in just a very short time. As a result, we are here now to inaugurate the opening of our second factory,” he said.

The company already has almost 2,300 employees who Nakajima considers as their edge from other manufacturing companies, citing their hardwork and efficiency in their jobs.
