Forbes: Henry Sy world’s richest Filipino for a decade now

MANILA, Philippines — For the tenth year in a row, mall and real estate magnate Henry Sy has been named by Forbes magazine as the world’s richest Filipino.

Ninety two-year-old Sy ranked 94th in the international magazine’s annual billionaires list with a net worth of  $12.7 billion.

The mall mogul’s ranking dropped 23 notches from 71 last year. His estimated net worth in 2016 was $13.3 billion.

Sy joined the world’s richest businessmen Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Ma, among several others in the roster.

Microsoft’s Gates topped the Forbes’ list with a net worth of $86 billion.

Below is the list of the world’s top 10 billionaires.

  • Amancio Ortega – Zara

  • Mark Zuckerberg – Facebook

Aside from Sy, nine other Filipinos made it to the world’s billionares list. Sy was followed by John Gokongwei Jr., Lucio Tan, and George Ty as the richest Filipinos.
