MANILA, Philippines – ArthaLand Corp. has acquired an 8.1-hectare property in Biñan, Laguna as part of its medium-term expansion plan.

In a recent interview, ArthaLand president Angela de Villa-Lacson said the company acquired the property for P307 million. The property will be developed into a mixed-use complex starting in the second half of 2017.

“We continue to move forward on a strategically managed pace. This is to ensure that we remain faithful with our standards on quality and sustainability. We carefully study the market to make sure we bring in products that are aligned to the specific segment’s unique needs and preferences,” she said.

The Laguna property will be a mixed use development, said Christopher Po, president of CPG Holdings Inc., the Po family’s investment vehicle and the biggest shareholder of ArthaLand.

It is seen to complement ArthaLand’s roster of projects that adhere to the green building principles set by the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program and the Philippine Green Building Council’s Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (Berde) program.

Such certifications guarantee that the building achieves high performance in key areas of human and environmental health. To be certified, projects need to satisfy prerequisites and earn points based on intelligent selection of the property location, water and energy usage efficiency, responsible use of materials and resources and indoor environmental quality.

ArthaLand’s projects include the two-tower upscale Arya Residences, the 30-floor ArthaLand Century Pacific Tower and the 38-story Cebu Exchange.

The Century Pacific Tower is already 53 percent complete and is targeted for completion next year while the Cebu Exchange, launched just last month, is slated for completion in by 2020 for the first phase and by 2022 for the second phase.
