MANILA, Philippines - QualiMed Health Network, the joint venture between property powerhouse Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) and the Mercado family, opened its first full-service hospital in Luzon.

The P430 million 105-bed hospital is part of the ALI-Mercado is located in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan within the 100-hectare Altaraza Town Center owned by ALI.

Under the agreement earlier forged by the two parties, the consortium has committed to spend P5 billion to build 10 hospitals and 10 clinics in strategic locations nationwide.

About P1.4 billion or 28 percent of the total funding commitment had so far been spent, the consortium said.

“The presence of QualiMed Hospital supports the comprehensive and sustainable lifestyle offerings in the Altaraza estate and will greatly benefit the surrounding community as well,” said Alfonso Reyes, head of ALI Capital Corp.

ALI project development manager Charlotte Cailao said the company is upbeat on the business opportunities in the area as San Jose del Monte is the 19th most populous city in the country.

“The city has a high population growth of 10 percent and we think that they are ready to welcome opportunities for businesses,” she added.

Before the year ends, another QualiMed Hospital is set to open in Nuvali in Sta.Rosa, Laguna and clinics in Bonifacio Global City, Alabang Town Center and Cebu City.

By 2017, another hospital will open in Balintawak to be followed by four in 2018 which will be situated in Makati, Arca South in Taguig, Harbor Point, and Davao.

The other QualiMed branches will rise in Kawit Cavite, in Centrio Cagayan de Oro, and the Cebu central business district.
