PLDT mobilizes Pay Express Van
MANILA, Philippines – Telco and digital services provider Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has launched a mobile payment center service called Pay Express Van in Manila to provide subscribers another convenient way to pay.
In a statement yesterday, PLDT said the PLDT Pay Express Van is being rolled out in Manila after receiving positive response during its pilot in Cebu.
The Pay Express Van is a sales and service center (SSC) on wheels with the customary cashiering system found in a payment center fitted into a mobile truck.
The SSC is manned by three cashiers.
“PLDT is dedicated to providing excellent service to our customers. We constantly think of ways on how we can give them the best service and the best experience at all times,” Jonel Ladaban, PLDT vice-president and head of credit and collection management said.
The mobile payment service not only shortens the processing time and queues but also provides better customer experience.
Transactions on the Pay Express Van are done in two to three minutes, on average.
Moreover, multiple PLDT accounts for Home, Alpha and SME may be processed through the mobile payment service.
“With PLDT Pay Express Van, we are able to supplement the number of available cashiers when customers need it most. We understand our customer’s busy schedules and how time consuming bills payment can be. We want to lessen the time it takes them to transact with this invaluable service,” Ladaban said.
The PLDT Pay Express Van will be posted in Pasig and Pasay SSCs, the branches with the highest number of customer traffic during peak dates.
For its initial rollout, the mobile truck will be stationed in Pasay until Feb. 5, and will operate in Pasig by Feb. 8.
After Pasig, the Pay Express Van will be parked between the PLDT SSC Pasig branch along Bagong Ilog every 1st to the 14th of the month and the PLDT SSC Pasay branch along Harrison every 15th to the 30th of the month.
According to PLDT, 38 percent of its subscribers nationwide still prefer to pay through SSCs.
Other preferred modes of payment are through banks (12 percent), Internet (20 percent), and other payment channels (30 percent).
PLDT Pay Express Van is a joint initiative between PLDT and Customer Frontline Solutions, a subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. and Bayad Center.
