DMCI bags P2.9 B projects in Q3

MANILA, Philippines – D.M. Consunji, Inc., the wholly-owned construction subsidiary of DMCI Holdings Inc., has bagged P2.9 billion worth of projects in the third quarter, bringing its total order book to over P31 billion.

In a briefing Thursday night, D.M. Consunji Inc. first vice president Rebecca Civil said the pipeline of projects comprises residential buildings, office spaces, a creative hub, power plants and water facilities.

The company for instance, is building the Areté, which is envisioned to be the Museum of Modern Art in the Philippines.

Areté is an ancient Greek word that means excellence or virtue. The project would serve as the Creative Hub of the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.

It includes three separate structures: a three-story Theater Building that houses the main theater, block box theater and a museum; a four-story Innovation/Learning Building; and the Utility Center Building. All structures will be connected by a bridgeway to facilitate foot traffic.

“This is targeted for completion in February 2017,” Civil said.

Another project is The Imperium at Capitol Commons. It is the premiere residential development of Ortigas & Co.

DMCI is set to begin the 42-month structural and basic architectural works for the 67-story residential high-rise by December 2015.

The building will feature trapezoidal canted windows and unobstructed views of the Ortigas skyline and Antipolo hills.

Another building project is the phase II office expansion of TV5 Network Inc., which involves the construction of a nine-storey building with a combined floor area of 20,031 square meters.

Furthermore, the Consunji-owned construction firm is also set to construct two diesel power plants in Palawan and Sultan Kudarat. Once completed, the facilities will have a combined capacity of 13.59 MW.

DMCI also bagged the Tirona Pumping Station and Reservoir project in Kawit, Cavite.

DMCI is one of the leading engineering and construction firms in the country. Its pioneering engineering and construction methodologies have allowed it to complete over 500 projects of varying scale and complexity.

Through the decades, it has built various infrastructure projects and landmark structures such as the Philippine International Convention Center and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

It also built the Istana Nurul Iman palace, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei.
