DOTC defers deadline for submission of documents for LTFRB IT project
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has again moved the deadline for the submission of qualification documents for the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s P298 million Road Transport Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure project phase II under the public-private partnership (PPP) program.
“In view of the Senate plenary hearing on Nov. 23, which requires the attendance of majority of the members of this committee, the submission and opening of the qualification documents on Nov. 23 is moved to Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.,” Winston Ginez, vice chairman of the pre-qualification, bids and awards committee and chairman of the LTFRB said in DOTC bulletin.
The bids for the project must be submitted at The Columbia Tower in Mandaluyong City.
Bids submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
The date for the submission of the qualification documents for the project has been moved several times with the deadline first set on Oct. 2, then moved to Oct. 12, deferred again to Oct. 30, and pushed to Nov. 23.
The DOTC said earlier the change in the deadline for the submission of bids for the project was intended to give bidders more time to prepare.
The project involves the upgrade of LTFRB’s existing IT infrastructure.
Among the work needed to be done is to move to computerized from manual processes, as well as the develop, supply and operate the network infrastructure (hardware) and database, and applications (software) of the agency.
The project will likewise cover the clean up of existing data of the LTFRB, as well as improvement of data collection and processing.
The project is envisioned to facilitate integration within the LTFRB and related agencies, which in effect should lessen the processing time for its transactions, make it easier to access public information and provide channels for feedback.
The PPP Center said earlier 28 firms expressed interest for the project by attending the pre-bid conference.
