The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Eight German companies are coming to the Philippines to look for partners to participate and invest in the country’s 90 percent electrification goal with renewable energy (RE).

In a statement, German government-owned international cooperation company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH said eight German solar photovoltaic (PV) and micro-grid companies and three RE experts would visit the Philippines to explore opportunities in the country.

The companies would include 8p2 Ingenieurspartnerschaft, an engineering firm specializing in technical inspection and consulting; Autarsys GmbH, a provider of modular energy storage systems; IB Vogt GmbH, a global solar EPC company; IBC Solar AG, an international provider of comprehensive solar solutions; PV2 Energie GmbH, a solar project developer; Qinous GmbH, a provider of plug and play energy storage solutions; SaEnergy Systems GmbH, which provides independent and stand-alone energy supply; and Solea AG, a leading turnkey PV systems provider.

Meanwhile, the three experts are from eclareon GmbH, a consulting firm focusing on renewable energy.

The German companies will be looking for partners in the private and public sectors to implement RE projects in the country.

The companies have developed innovative off-grid RE power generation and distribution solutions such as stand-alone micro-grid solutions powered by RE and hybridization of diesel plants, backed up by intelligent battery and power management systems.

They will form part of the delegation of the fifth business trip of German RE companies to the Philippines, titled “Renewables – Made in Germany” initiative, from Oct. 26 to 30.
