PLDT expects strong growth in enterprise business this year
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) is aiming to achieve double-digit growth in revenues from its enterprise business this year as it offers new digital offerings to allow businesses to enhance their operations.
“For PLDT Enterprise, we had P35 to P36 billion revenues last year. We’re expecting double-digit growth this year,” Eric Alberto, executive vice president and head of the enterprise business at PLDT and Smart Communications Inc. said yesterday.
PLDT’s enterprise business covers PLDT Alpha Enterprise and PLDT SME Nation.
PLDT Alpha Enterprise, which serves as the corporate business arm of PLDT, provides products and services to enable Tier-1 enterprises in the country to adapt to the evolving information and communications technology (ICT) needs as well as utilize digital technologies to enhance operations and customer experience.
On the other hand, PLDT SME Nation provides entrepreneurs technologies from enabling voice, broadband and mobility solutions as well as ICT and cloud services, to help their businesses grow.
Alberto said the growth in revenues would be driven not just by the traditional legacy business but also by initiatives in ICT as the group provides new products and services to help businesses in their operations.
“Digital will be the driver of growth,” he said.
Among the new offerings of PLDT through PLDT Alpha Enterprise and digital innovations unit Voyager Innovations Inc., is digital platform SafeZone (www.safezone.ph) which allows free internet access to partner websites and mobile apps.
Through SafeZone, consumers’ access to websites are paid by sponsoring brands.
Alberto said SafeZone allows enterprises to have a more intimate engagement with consumers who are either interested with the product and service offered or already about to make a purchase.
