MANILA, Philippines – SM Cinema will be unveiling its first interactive theater in Caloocan City on Oct. 23.
Dubbed as Winema or We Interact with the Cinema, the facility allows movie goers to play games before the film by just waving their hands toward the screen, SM Cinema said in a statement.
SM Center Sangandaan would be home to this new facility and would be the second theater to carry it permanently.
Four fully-digitized cinemas will have motion sensitive cameras that allow for interactive games, aimed to bring additional entertainment for movie goers.
SM Cinema said the Winema at SM Center Sangandaan would have 206 seats for each theater with an area dedicated to persons with disabilities.
The cinemas would also have digital surround sound system and “crystal-clear” images for an enjoyable theater experience.
SM Cinema added the new facility would be complemented by its official snack and merchandise arm, Snack Time, for snacks and drinks, and movie merchandise for the public.
A limited movie kit through e-PLUS would be offered on Oct. 23 inclusive of four movie tickets and four caramelized popcorn for P300. A kit with six movie tickets, six caramelized popcorn, and a subscription to SM’s newly-launched Blink movie app would also be available for P500.
