HSBC sets system upgrade

MANILA, Philippines - The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. (HSBC) is undertaking a system upgrade over the weekend.

In its HSBC Global/PLUS ATM Service Downtime Advisory, the bank informed clients there would be a scheduled system upgrade starting 10 p.m. on Saturday until 10 a.m. on Sunday.

During the upgrade, services and transactions such as local and international ATM, Point-of-Sale (POS), and online transactions using the ATM or debit cards of HSBC and HSBC Savings Bank would not be available.

HSBC said HSBC and HSBC Savings Bank ATMs for use by other local and international banks’ ATM/debit/credit cards as well as online banking service and transactions would not be available.

Likewise, the bank said local and international ATM transactions using HSBC credit cards would not be available.

However, HSBC said POS and online transactions using credit cards would not be affected.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We encourage you to make arrangements beforehand to minimize any inconvenience on your part,” HSBC said.
