Customs auctions off luxury cars
MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Customs would auction off two luxury cars worth at least P14.4 million next week.
In a notice, the agency said the public auction of the goods seized earlier would be done through a sealed bidding on Aug. 27. Qualified bidders may view the merchandise on Aug 25 and 26.
One used Porsche 911 GT3 model 2011 and a used Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Superleggera model 2011 would be auctioned off during the event.
Both cars arrived in the country in September 2011 and were both identified as “not in running condition.”
The Porsche unit would have a floor price of P4.8 million, while bids for the Lamborghini would start at P9.6 million.
Aside from the luxury cars, the BOC would be auctioning off stainless steel kitchen sink and pipes, packaging paper, and stainless steel sheets during the Aug. 27 bidding.
Bidders should submit an accomplished registration form with their latest income or business tax returns at least two days before the auction. A non-refundable P2,020 registration fee would also be collected.
