MANILA, Philippines - Malaysian company Ajiya Safety Glass Sdn Bhd. sees strong demand for its glass business in the Philippines because of increasing construction activity.

“The Philippine market is booming. The construction is everywhere,” said Ajiya sales manager Low Yite Shung.

Ajiya manufactures and distributes tailor-made glasses to suit the requirements of their customers.

The glasses are used for high-rise residences, offices and shopping malls.

The firm has provided glasses for the construction projects of subcontractors of big property developers in the country.

Recently, the firm supplied glasses to Christ Commission Fellowship church in Greenhills.

Ajiya is one of the Malaysian companies that participated in the recently concluded Worldbex 2015 held at the World Trade Center on March 11-15, 2015.

“With more infrastructure and property projects in the Philippines, we’re optimistic about the growth in Ajiya’s order book coming from Filipino buyers,” said Nyaee Ayup. Embassy of Malaysia Trade Office Manila Commission.

Construction activity is expected to pick up in the Philippines as the government stands  more for infrastructure projects to support the country’s economic growth.

Private construction is also on the rise to cater to the demand from business process outsourcing firms for office spaces, as well as for tourist facilities and residential properties.

Formed in 1995, Ajiya’s principal line of business is the manufacture of curved and flat tempered safety glass, insulating glass, laminated glass, decorative glass as well as security glass under the brand name AJIYA.
