Ionics ties up with US firm
MANILA, Philippines — California-based Violin Memory Inc. has partnered with Ionics Inc. of the Philippines to deliver its state-of-the-art data storage solutions to Philippine enterprises.
Jeffrey Morrison, vice president and general manager for APAC at Violin Memory, said the partnership is in line with the US-based storage technology company’s efforts to expand its presence in the region.
“I think there is a lot of opportunity here (Philippines). Being successful for Violin in Asia is about partnering,” Morrison said in a press briefing.
With over 40 years in the technology sector, Ionics is now focused on creating world-class solutions and hardware appliances that harness the power of the Internet of Things (IoT).
The partnership with Violin Memory is testament to Ionics’ aim to future-proof local business organizations.
Violin Memory recently launched its Flash Storage Platform (FSP) worldwide including the new 7300 and 7700 all flash arrays, ConcertoTM OS 7, and SymphonyTM 3 simple management control.
The Flash Storage Platform is the first all-flash storage system designed to run all primary storage and active workloads below the cost of traditional disk.
The Flash Storage Platform achieves the ultimate consolidation and simplification of next generation data center workloads by delivering the highest performance storage at the lowest CAPEX and OPEX possible today.
The 7300 and 7700 Flash Storage Platform designs reduce the effective cost-per-gigabyte by more than 75 percent over Violin’s prior generation of arrays, and are more than 25 percent lower in cost-per-gigabyte than the competition.
For large deployments the system delivers all-flash storage for as low as $1.50 effective cost-per-gigabyte, making it possible for the first time, to upgrade all primary storage to all-flash, opening up the roughly $15B primary storage market to all-flash based solutions.
Violin Memory was founded in 2005 and transforms the speed of business with high performance, always available, low cost management of critical business information and applications.
Ionics, on the other hand, is a leading technology group of companies engaged in product design cum electronics manufacturing, precision-engineered plastic injection molding, core-technology venture capital investment, property holdings and management.
