ASF cites PAL, 6 pilots from various airlines

MANILA, Philippines - Air Safety Foundation, Inc. (ASF) will recognize Philippine Airlines (PAL) and six pilots from five airlines for having no accidents in two years of flying in 2013 and 2014, including its founder on March 10 at 7 p.m. at Ralphs Resto Bar Makati Ave., Makati City during ASF 26th anniversary.

These awards will be given to Jaime Bautista, PAL president; ASF founder and president the late Capt. Roberto Lim; and the six pilots from various airlines.

According to (Ret.) Capt. Amado Soliman, Jr., ASF president, the awardees were recognized for their exemplary achievements with regards to the safety of maneuvering and piloting the airplanes for the two-year period for having no accidents.

Soliman said the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) conducted the investigation involving five airlines namely PAL, Cebu Pacific, Air Asia, PAL Express, and Tiger Airways.

Soliman is a member of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) who led the investigation for the crash of private airplane and plunged into the seabed of Masbate waters which caused the death of Jesse Robredo, former secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
