German firm seeks partners

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - German furniture giant Garant Mobel International is harnessing local makers and retailers of furniture products for its expansion plans in the Philippines.

Christoph Hampel, director of Garant-Mobel Holding International, said the company is keen on sharing its expertise in marketing, management, product portfolio and design, among others, to local furniture retailers.

Hampel will be in the country from Feb. 12 to 15 to lead the launching of Garant Philippines’ recruitment program for local furniture retailers to become the exclusive Garant store member in their locality, joining its network of over 4,000 stores worldwide.

“Our members-stores will also have access to the Garant Furniture Academy, the first formal training program in the country that is specifically tailored to the needs of furniture retailers,” Hampel emphasized.

As a symbolic launch of Garant Philippines, Garant Mobel will be launching its corporate hot-air balloons at the annual Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark.

Hampel brings with him the experience of the group that has more than 4,000 successful furniture member stores in over 20 countries.

Prospective member-retailers are advised to visit Garant Mobel’s booth at the event grounds to know more about how they can join the Garant Mobel chain of furniture stores. Garant Philippines officials will be in Clark from Feb. 12 to 15.
