The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ecuadorian national Diego Granizo, former commercial strategy and operations director of Coca-Cola Germany, was recently appointed as the newest Philippine general manager. With 20 years worth of experience working within the Coca-Cola system, Granizo is all set to lead the beverage company in the country.

In January 1995, he started in the franchise operations and customer division of Coca-Cola Ecuador, performing various roles and responsibilities. He was then assigned to Costa Rica and took over the role as execution director for the Latin center division, which made him in charge of South American countries like Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.  In 2006, he returned to his home country as General Manager of Coca-Cola Ecuador, his skills and expertise also played an important part to the success of other products in the Coca-Cola portfolio, such as Powerade and Nestea.

He also led Walmart’s operation initiation in 2008 as franchise operations director of Coca-Cola Chile.  His appointment as commercial strategy and operations director of Coca-Cola Germany in 2011 played an instrumental key to the region’s four years of consecutive growth.

“The Philippine economy is a vibrant and promising one. I am excited to be in a market that has a lot of opportunities for positive growth. Together with one of the best bottling partners that we have, Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines, we are very bullish for the Coca-Cola business here in the country. We look forward to opening and sharing more happiness to Filipinos this 2015 and in the years to come,” said Granizo.
