STI completes P250-M academic center in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines - Tanco-led STI Education Systems Holdings Inc. has completed the construction of its P250-million academic center in Batangas and targets to finish three more within the first quarter of the year.

STI told the local bourse that its Batangas academic center is now ready to accommodate up to 1,500 students taking courses under information and communications technology, business and management, tourism and hospitality management, arts and sciences, and engineering.

STI Academic Center Batangas is a three-story facility located in a 5,621-square meter property along Kumintang Ibaba in Batangas City.

“As we continue to grow our reach and improve our campuses nationwide, we are also building stronger foundations in education for those who are entrusting their future to us,” STI chief executive officer Monico V. Jacob said.

Aside from STI Academic Center Batangas, the listed education firm said new academic centers in Calamba, Cubao and Lucena would also be opened within the first quarter.

“The fruitful operations of STI Academic Centers in Global City, Naga, Fairview, and Alabang, are steps towards the growth of the STI network across the country,” the company said.

STI’s revenues in the first six months of its fiscal year ending March soared 18 percent to P975.1 million from P826.9 million in the same period last year, driven by the consistent increase in enrollments in most of its schools.

STI also operates iAcademy, a college that provides specialized and industry-based information and communications degree programs, and the West Negros University in Bacolod City.
