MANILA, Philippines - A unit of dominant carrier Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) is rolling out a new product to sustain subscriber growth for its residential wired business.

Ariel Fermin, executive vice president and head of Home Business, said PLDT Home DSL together with PLDT Home Telpad has launched the PLDT Home Fam Cam.

The new product is part of PLDT’s continued efforts to deliver an integrated approach to multimedia services catering to homes.

PLDT Home Fam Cam is a home monitoring system featuring a monitoring camera and software. Parents could use the product to watch over their kids from wherever they are. It is currently being offered to all existing PLDT Home DSL Plan 1299 and PLDT Home Telpad Plan 1699 subscribers and up. It is also available to all PLDT Home Fibr subscribers.

“Our growing subscriber base is a testament to customer trust in the quality of our products, and to the success of the PLDT Group’s integrated approach to multimedia, data and voice services. It’s an inspiration and a challenge for us as more Filipino families embrace this highly competitive and exciting age of digital connections and communication,” Fermin said.

He pointed out that subscriber growth in 2014 was driven by the company’s extensive facility roll-out and relentless efforts to provide compelling multimedia content. The residential wired business reached one million subscribers last year.

“In 2014, we have invested heavily in improving and expanding our infrastructure so we can reach more homes and provide them the strongest connections,” he added.

Fermin said PLDT would continue to enhance its product portfolio for its subscribers.
