Dimaporo named RDC-10 chairman

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has appointed Lanao del Norte Gov. Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo as the new chairman of the Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-10) for the term 2013-2016. Leon M. Dacanay Jr., National Economic and Development Authority-Northern Mindanao regional director, and vice chairman of RDC-10, made the announcement last week. Dimaporo is currently the vice president of the Confederation of Provincial Governors, City Mayors and Municipal Mayors’ League of Mindanao (CONFED Mindanao) and chairman of the RDC-Social Development Committee. He has also served as chairman of the RDC-Infrastructure/Utilities Development Committee in 2007 up to 2010. Dimaporo finished his Bachelor of Arts in International Economics (2002), at the University of San Francisco in California, where he also earned his Master’s Degree in Development Economics (2003) with honors.
