CGBP brings seminar series to Baguio City

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) will bring its seminars to Baguio City as it launches two of its best-selling seminars: Best Practices and Remedies to Avoid COA Disallowances scheduled on Jan. 30, 2015 and Families’ Guide to Estate and Tax Planning scheduled on Jan 31, 2015.  Both learning events will be held at Baguio Country Club. The seminar on Best Practices and Remedies to Avoid COA Disallowances will address the issues on COA disallowances and solutions for those encountering such problems. This will feature the common findings of COA, Supreme Court Rulings, as well as remedies and defenses on cases that may be deemed as disbursements which are illegal, irregular, extravagant, unnecessary and unconscionable.  This is intended for LGUs, government agencies and lawyers who need to defend their clients on COA and procurement-related issues.  CGBP will also offer this in Legazpi City on January 9, 2015.  This one-day learning event will feature Atty. Leonor D. Boado, the recently retired director of the Fraud Audit and Investigation Office, Legal Services Sector of the Commission on Audit.

The second seminar on Families’ Guide to Estate & Tax Planning is very useful for families and their businesses.  This special 1-day event will provide the best possible ways and options to save on estate, donor’s and inheritance taxes when you want transfering your assets and your business to the next generation. This will feature Atty. Nicasio C. Cabaneiro, who is an authority in the practice of taxation and commercial law with 40 years of teaching experience and 25 years of banking experience with Bank of Philippine Islands, capping his career as its vice president and head of the Legal Services Division from 1982 to 2007.
