Smart sets up new stores for iPhone 6 offers

MANILA, Philippines —  Smart Communications, Inc. is now offering the new iPhone 6 and 6 plus through the Smart Postpaid and Smart Infinity Plans.

Smart stores were set up in partner malls SM Megamall and SM Aura for interested subscribers to avail the new Apple phone.

One of the first to acquire the iPhone 6, Carmella Vitug, was just strolling at SM Megamall when they came across the Smart stall.

"We really weren't planning to purchase an iPhone. Napadaan lang kami so we got interested tapos yun, nag-sign up kami tapos after a few minutes we got the iPhone," Vitug said.

Vitug has been using an iPhone for almost two years but this would be her first subscription with Smart.

Among the perks that Smart will be offering to their iPhone 6 subscribers are the free Uber ride to Smart stores, "Choose Your Own Number" promo and free three movies from Blink.

Free rides will be offered via Uber for those who will check Smart's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus from November 14 to 16. Those who are interested must download the Uber App, create an account, and use the promo code SMARTIPHONE<location> to avail two free rides.

The "Choose Your Own Number" promo is available to New Connect subscribers from November 10 to 24. A client's desired number will be based on its availability and will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those who will avail of the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus will have free access to three movies via the Blink App from November 14 to December 31. This promo is open to new subscribers availing of a new postpaid line, existing subscribers availing of an additional line, and existing subscribers availing of retention, according to Smart.

For Smart subscribers who are already using an iPhone and want to upgrade to Data Plan 3000, the Retention Upgrade is available. Subscribers that will upgrade need not to cash-out for the iPhone 6 64GB and iPhone 16GB. Infinity Plan also offers unique pricing and plans.

Another program that Smart will be offering is the "Wipe Out" wherein subscribers who will to pre-terminate their current contract and upgrade to an iPhone handset in their new contract will get a discount. Plan 800 and above subscribers will be entitled to free handset insurance from Standard Insurance Co. for one year.
