Peso gains 2 centavos on Friday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso moved sideways against the dollar on Friday, closing at 44.88 from the previous day's 44.9.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $566.7 million, higher than the $425.2 million posted on Thursday.

The peso opened the week at 44.85.
