National Inventors Week set Nov 13-16

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has commissioned the Filipino Inventors Society Producer Cooperative (FISPC) to spearhead the celebration of the National Inventors Week (NIW) next month. The observance of NIW is also being supported by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).

FISPC chairman Francisco Pagayon said NIW will be held Nov. 13-16 in two venues: Upper Ground Floor, Event Center, Fisher Mall along Quezon Ave., and at FISPC headquarters at the ground floor of Delta Bldg., West Ave. corner Quezon Ave. Both sites are located in Quezon City.

The event will open with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Fisher Mall venue at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 13 with the following invited as guests of honor: DOST Secretary Mario Montejo, Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, Sen. Cynthia Villar and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

Over 50 exhibitors will showcase their products ranging from agricultural implements and inputs to solar energy devices. Along with this, four symposiums on the following topics have been scheduled: Nov. 13 – Fuel Conservation with Dennis Alvarez as speaker; Nov. 14 – Solar Electrification with Francis Garcia as speaker; Nov. 15 – Electro Ion Therapy with Daniel Orijuela as speaker; and Nov. 16 – Organic Agri Pesticide with Jesus Ambrocio as speaker. All symposiums will be held at the ground floor of the Delta Bldg. right next to the FISPC headquarters.
