World Trade Center to stage Markets of the World 2

MANILA, Philippines - The World Trade Center Metro Manila will stage the second opening of the “Markets of the World” (“MOW2”) on Oct. 14 at the WTCMM.

The MOW2 is aimed at providing the Philippine business sector with a platform for the development, promotion and expansion of trade and investments.

Featured countries in MOW2 are key ASEAN and ASEAN-FTA partner countries such as Indonesia, India, New Zealand, Vietnam and Korea.

It will also include the Philippines’ key partners in the Middle East such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Apart from being the Philippines’ major bilateral trade partners, majority of these countries also figure in the top 40 of the Global Competitiveness Index 2013-2014.

MOW 2 will highlight, among other things, the trade performance of the Philippines with ASEAN member countries and the ASEAN-FTA partner countries.

The MOW2 is a continuing trade education program providing Manila WTC club members and other business associates of WTCMM with business opportunities in various markets by equipping them of the latest trends and best practices in these selected markets.

Some of the more specific topics are developments on trade, investment and tourism, top import and export sectors, regulations and policies on doing business, current economic and market situation, new sector-specific trade and investment opportunities, and other topics relevant to trade and investment promotions and expansion.

Distinguished high-profile resource persons will also touch on their preparations for the ASEAN economic community (AEC) and how this is viewed to impact trade within and outside ASEAN.

The first MOW staged in September 2013 was a huge success with over 100 registered delegates who benefitted from the talks of key officers of embassies, chambers of commerce and trade organizations of the UK, Germany, USA, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Korea, and Japan.
