Pakistan, Japan business missions to visit Phl

MANILA, Philippines - Business missions from Pakistan and Japan are scheduled  to arrive in the country this month and next month to explore opportunities, the  Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said.

PCCI president Alfredo Yao told reporters two business missions are expected to visit the country.

The 13-man business delegation from Pakistan is expected to arrive in the country next week.

The delegation is composed of the following companies: Perfect Engineering Works (plastic hous hold and thermoware products); Planet Group of Companies (renewable energy equipment, petrochemicals, onyx and marble handicrafts, wind and solar power plants and handicrafts); Mahmood Cotton Ginners (export of cotton); Hub Pak Salt Refinery
(export of salt of all kinds for industrial and domestic use); Din
Leather (Pvt) Ltd. (finished leather and value-added cotton textile); Eastern Fishing Co. (Pvt.) Ltd., and Zeelaf Hotel and Restaurants (sea food); Swat Ceramics (wall tiles, all fixings and floor tiles); Guys and Dolls (textile, ready-made garments); Durrant Associates and Pak Sun Green (Pvt.) Ltd., (mango, banana, persimmons, apple and grape fruit processing plant); Meskay & Femtee Trading Co. (food products); D.S. Motors (Pvt.) Ltd. (automotive); Al-Mahmood Establishment (fruits
and vegetables); and  Bilal Associates (logistics management).

session for the business mission on August 28 at the PCCI office in McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City.

Yao said another delegation from Osaka’s business federation Kankeiren, would be also visit the country next month.

The Japanese business delegation is composed of representatives from the following companies: Panasonic Corp., Kyoei Steel Ltd., Itochu Corp., Sojitz Corp., Sumitomo Corp., Daikin Industries, Ltd., Obayashi Corp., Mitsui and Co.  Ltd., Mitsubishi Corp., Marubeni Corp., Hitachi Zosen Corp., Takenaka Corp., Daiwa Institute of Research Ltd. and Japan Bank for
International Cooperation.

The PCCI, which is the country’s largest business organization, is working with its partner organizations in other parts of the world in hosting business missions here.

The group hosts business missions to encourage partnerships between local and foreign firms. At the same time, the group wants to promote the Philippines as a hub
in the region given the upcoming Association of Southeast Asian
Nations (ASEAN) economic integration.

The ASEAN economic integration, which is expected by the end of 2015, seeks to allow free flow of goods, services, skilled labor,
investments and capital within the region.

The PCCI is promoting the country as a destination for investments to create jobs and support inclusive growth.
