Red Horse Beer wins gold at international beer awards
MANILA, Philippines - San Miguel Brewery Inc.’s Red Horse Beer, the country’s No. 1 Extra Strong Beer, was recently awarded a gold medal for excellence at the prestigious Australian International Beer Awards, the largest beer competition in the Asia-Pacific region.
The brand, the lone winner of a gold medal from the Philippines, earned the nod of a panel of judges composed of expert brewers and connoisseurs who meticulously tested and tasted more than 1,500 entries from around the world.
AIBA head judge Warren Pawsey said: “All beers that were entered were treated with respect, individually assessed, evaluated blind and without bias.”
The awards give brewers an opportunity to benchmark their beers against international industry standards, seek advice from an independent panel of experts, and promote and market award-winning products with the AIBA seal of approval.
Presented annually by the Royal Agricultural Society in partnership with the Federation University Australia, the Melbourne-based AIBA is the largest competition for the beer industry in the Asia Pacific region since 1992.
Red Horse Beer’s recent achievement at the AIBA is a clear manifestation of its brand pitch “Ito ang Tama!” and San Miguel Brewery Inc.’s commitment to excellence with its other multi-awarded and globally known beer brands.
Red Horse Beer holds annually the country’s premier rock extravaganza, Pambansang Muziklaban which is now on its 16th edition.
