Phl to take part in Hotel Show Dubai

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s leading home design companies will represent the Philippines in The Hotel Show Dubai slated at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai, UAE on Sept. 28-30. The Philippine contingent will exhibit a diverse range of certified, export-quality contract furniture pieces and home accents in a 98-square-meter Pavilion.

The Hotel Show Dubai is considered as the ultimate business-to-business event for the hospitality industry that features products from the hotel investment and development sector through design, architecture, refurbishing, operation, and management. The Philippine participation in the largest dedicated hotel and hospitality exhibition in the region of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is spearheaded by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

“Our participation in The Hotel Show Dubai will strongly sustain CITEM’s effort to bring multiple business opportunities to the Philippine furniture industry. It is an opportunity to strengthen the international reputation of the Philippines brand as a design leader in Asia,” said CITEM Executive Director Rosvi Gaetos.

Key buyers in the areas of hotel real estate development, design, architecture, and engineering from all over the world are expected to gather in the MENA region’s largest hotel supply event.  In September 2013, the country’s participation in The Hotel Show Dubai attracted favorable business results, gaining a total negotiated sales of $6.9 million.

The Hotel Show Dubai serves a healthy growing marketplace for home products that is about to get significantly bigger with major projects and developments for EXPO 2020 in Dubai, The World Cup 2022 in Qatar, and massive hotel room expansion in Saudi Arabia and Africa as well.

Now celebrating its 15th year, The Hotel Show Dubai is a viable platform to strategically position the Philippines as an ideal sourcing hub for finely crafted products that provide a glimpse of what the Philippines can offer to the world market. It provides a vibrant showcase of luxury and contemporary interiors, essential equipment, and the newest technology suppliers, aside from offering a conference program and workshops focusing on the latest trends in and forecasts for the hotel and hospitality industry.

The country’s participation in The Hotel Show Dubai will likewise promote Manila FAME to its buyers who visit the show annually. Manila FAME is the country’s biggest bi-annual design and lifestyle event showcasing craftsmanship, design innovation, eco-sustainability, and artisanship in Philippine products.

The 60th show edition of Manila FAME will include an expanded International Hall which will feature exhibitors from around the world, notably from Asia Pacific as it gears for ONE ASEAN in 2015. It will be held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City on Oct. 16-19.

Manila FAME showcases certified, export-quality products such as furniture and furnishings, holiday gifts and decor, garments, and fashion accessories designed and crafted in the Philippines for the global market.  It is one of the longest-running trade shows in the Asia Pacific, and is the only trade event in the country that has been approved by Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
