13 hotels and counting: Microtel by Wyndham at UP Technohub now open

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Microtel by Wyndham opens its latest hotel property at the U.P.-AyalaLand Technohub, a commercial development area hosting technology and business incubators, research firms, BPOs, restaurants, and numerous commercial establishments.

Microtel UP Technohub, has 120 guest rooms – decent-sized at 25 to 30 square meters big, enough space for guests to stretch and breathe in quiet luxury – within its six-story structure fronting Commonwealth Avenue. Featuring a clean and modern design, rooms overlook a garden expanse flanked by the lobby and a restaurant with an al fresco patio. A function hall above the dining facility holds 150 people and is perfect for weddings, social celebrations, as well as meetings and corporate affairs. In addition, there are three meeting rooms good for 30 persons.

Microtel by Wyndham – a pioneer in the no-frills, back-to-basics, limited-service concept and the fastest growing with 13 properties across the country since building its first at Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac 14 years ago – strategically positions itself at the center of any kind of hub, whether it be tourism or business. It is the sole Microtel by Wyndham franchise in Asia which belongs to the Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest and most diverse hotel company with over 7,500 hotels worldwide in 69 countries under 15 hotel brands.

Under president Jose Mari del Rosario, Microtel established their hotel properties all over the Philippine archipelago, providing a much needed jump-off point for tourists to discover the countryside and business professionals to expand their networks. “I am proud to say that we are the largest international hotel chain in the country. Our 100 percent Filipino management team has been successful in fusing Pinoy hospitality with Wyndham’s global standards,” he enthused.

The U.P.-AyalaLand Technohub was listed as an approved IT Park by PEZA in 2009 and lies just in front of the tree-filled University of the Philippines Diliman campus. The area is within short distance of numerous government centers, restaurants, business establishments, shopping malls and specialty hospitals.

With Microtel's prime position at U.P.-AyalaLand Technohub, the hotel focuses on providing guests a clean, comfortable, and secure accommodation at value rates. Only recently Microtel opened in South Forbes near Nuvali, and last year, Microtel Acropolis in front of the Eastwood commercial center.

Microtel UP Technohub is a joint venture between Aviso Holdings Inc., Grupo Alfaro Inc., and Andorra Investments Corp. along with Microtel Development Corp.
