Edsa Shangri-La appointments

MANILA, Philippines - Edsa Shangri-La, Manila has announced the appointment of Urs Solanthaler as new resident manager. A Swiss national, Solanthaler is responsible for overseeing the rooms and food and beverage divisions, as well as other operational departments including spa and recreation. Prior to his appointment, Solanthaler served as senior executive service manager A&G at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta and also at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa.“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Solanthaler to the Edsa Shangri-La, Manila family,” said Patrick Schaub, hotel general manager, adding, “his knowledge and experience of over 25 years in the hospitality industry, from all over the world, are certainly invaluable as we continue to break new ground and evolve as a premiere destination hotel.” Also British-South African Martin Frowd has been named executive pastry chef With over 25 years of experience in the world of fine pastry making in both international luxury hotels and restaurants, Martin has wowed guests with his sweet culinary touch across the UK, South Africa, the United States and the Middle East.
